Getting into Online Poker
Whether you have
played poker with your mates before on a more
or less regular basis or you are entirely new
to the whole poker thing, here is our recommendation
on how to approach online poker.
-
-
Download that poker software
and open an account, but start playing at
the Play Money Tables first to get used to
the software.
-
Now check for Freeroll
Tournaments. It's free to enter, many
opponents, real money to be won, but most
importantly: you'll be playing a lot of hands.
That means you'll get a lot of valuable practice
that still won't cost you a penny.
-
Feeling ready for the real
thing? Very good. At first, start off with
a Single
Table Tournament. The the number of opponents
is only 6-10 and all you could potentially
lose is your entry fee, whereas winning will
quadruple or even quintuple your money.
Later, you can go ahead and buy in to a Multi-table
Tournament. There's some fantastic poker
literature about poker tournament strategies
and tactics, which will no doubt help you
improving your game.
-
After having gained experience
with the software and online poker itself
by playing tournaments, you are ready to take
your money to the cash tables, called Ring
Games.
After all, Online
Poker should be fun and a long term entertainment,
yet there are quite a few sharks out there waiting
but you don't want to be their prey.
So start off nice & easy, in 1st gear, and
once you feel ready for more........ accelerate!
